Adaq Aqiqa benefits hundred in Cotabato City

One hundred twenty-five (125) families in Brgy. Tamontaka, Cotabato City received free beef from the Adaq Aqiqa (Sacrifice of Gratitude) facilitated by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) with support from Insani Yardim Vakfi (IHH), a humanitarian foundation based in Turkey.

Adaq Aqiqa is an act of generosity observed by able Muslim families in gratitude and sharing of the blessings they are continuously receiving for the year.

Five (5) cows were slaughtered on January 17, 2018; three at the BDA office site and two at the Orphanage Center managed by BDA with IHH support.

“We thank our partner from IHH- Turkey for sharing their blessing to our poor families in the Bangsamoro community through this Adaq Aqiqa”, BDA Executive Director Mohamamad S. Yacob said.

He added that this is also one way of extending help to the needy families who can only eat animal meat rarely in a year, which for them is already a special meal.

BDA and IHH have been partners in the delivery of humanitarian services in Bangsamoro communities through various programs such as Qurbani, Ramadhan Free Iftar and other relief operations since 2014.
