Two thousand families affected by the Typhoon Vinta received food assistance on January 26, 2018 through the Emergency Relief Operation facilitated by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) with the support of the Turkiye Dyanet Vakfi (TDV), a humanitarian foundation based in Turkey.
Said families who are now homed-based evacuees were coming from the barangays of Old Poblacion, Lininding, Bacayawan, Matampay, Pindulunan, Ramain, Dalama, Punong, Taguranao, Balintad, Pantao and Lindongan.
The distribution which was jointly conducted with by BDA Central Management Office (CMO) and Regional Management Office (RMO) Ranaw and was coordinated with the local government of Munai, Lanao del Norte was at the municipal office of this town.
Typhoon Vinta (Tembin) is the 22nds tropical cyclone that hit the Philippines for 2017 where more than 200 people were reported dead. It occurred 3rd week of December 2017 leaving thousand families homeless and livelihood affected.
It has been in the priorities of the BDA to extend help to poor and affected of both natural and man-made calamities under it social welfare program through collective resources from staff and volunteers and support from donor agencies.
