Bangsamoro scholars convene for service in Bangsamoro

About thirty Bangsamoro scholars convened recently to discuss and formulate action plan towards service in the Bangsamoro communities on January 20, 2018 at Safe Haven Resto in Cotabato City.

These scholars are alumni of various scholarship program In-Country Scholarship Program (ICSP) facilitated by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) in partnership with the Philippine-Australia Human Resource and Organizational Development Facility (PAHRDOF).

They have completed master’s degree courses in their respective field of specialization from different partner universities and colleges across the Philippines.

In the activity, the Bangsamoro scholars worked together in forming their association that shall formalize their group who intend to strengthen their cluster towards the objectives of contributing to the peace-building efforts in the Bangsamoro.

Members of the Bangsamoro Scholar Alumni Association, which is now their official group name joined forces during the activity for election of officers, formulation their vision, ,mission, goals and core values.

For the scholars, the activity is very significant as they got to see each other again especially that they are talking about service to Bangsamoro.

One of them, Maryam Amir, shared in her face book post that “educating oneself does not end with ourselves, it must be shared with others”.

For Jihan Abdulrashid, the gathering is just a beginning, that there will be more works for the Bangsamoro.

Next to the said assembly is a meeting of the Association on first week of February to discuss further plans and activities in line with their objective to serve the Bangsamoro.
