The Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) attended the International Human Rights Day organized by the Regional Human Rights Commission (RHRC) on December 12, 2017 at Em Manor Hotel, Cotabato City.
The event commemorated the day on which, in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
Ten staff from BDA-Central Management Office (CMO) and Regional Management Office (RMO)-Central Mindanao represented the BD to that activity.
“For BDA, the activity was educational and important since we were able to learn more about human rights which can help us be more responsible as we do development works in communities in pursuit of BDA’s mandate that is to lead, manage and determine relief and rehabilitation in the conflict affected areas in Mindanao,” BDA staff told.
The whole day event comprised of lectures, workshops and gallery. Topics discussed were Human Rights Education: Basic Human Rights and Human Rights in Bangsamoro Context. There were separate workshop sessions for rights of the children, women’s rights and the Int’l. Humanitarian Law.
Event like this for BDA is always an opportunity to meet and greet with other people from other organizations towards expanding linking and networking.
