Building peace thru investing on education and health in the Bangsamoro

Pursuing development projects has been the major task of the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) for the past fifteen years. This is in principle that development must happen to give hope and confidence to communities affected and frustrated by decade-long conflict in the Bangsamoro; a mission which is made possible through the support and assistance of development partners.

Recently, major development took place bringing good news to selected communities in three of the regions of the BDA. This is through a groundbreaking ceremony that consecutively happened for the construction of infrastructure projects managed by the BDA with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).

On April 3, 2018, the construction of 4-classroom school building kicked off at Brgy.Poblacion, Buluan, Maguindanao. On the following day April 4, two groundbreaking ceremony was conducted; one for construction of another classroom in Kutawato Darussalam in Cotabato City and one for the construction of birthing clinic in Brgy. Ā Darapanan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.

Two communities in Lanao del Sur particularly Marawi City and Buadipuso are also recipients of school building while in Marantao is a birthing clinic.

Two selected villages in Davao Region will likewise have the same type of infra projects; school building and birthing clinic.

To note, BDA and TIKA have signed a contract for this program partnership on March 15, 2018.that aims to extend development assistance to Bangsamoro communities.

The project is part of the commitment of the Turkey Government to support the peace process and to give aid in the development initiatives in the Bangsamoro.

Turkey government thru TIKA and other agencies such as the Insani Yardim Vakfi (IHH) and Turkiye Dyanet Vakfi (TDV) has been in partnership with the BDA in delivering humanitarian projects like the Ramadhan and Qurbani program for the past years already.
