Communities in the camp join values transformation training

At least thirty-six community members actively participated in a three-day values transformation training workshop held on January 30-31 until February 1, 2019 in Brgy. Buliok in Pikit, North Cotabato in line with the Social Preparation component of the BDA-OPAPP partnership.

The training was geared towards inculcating and orienting the community people of the importance of the Islamic values necessary to become transformed society, which is duty-ready to perform any given task.

Among the topics discussed were focused on what Islamic values really is and its role in development, articles of faith, pillars of Islam and worship.

A development worker should be knowledgeable, responsible, honest, sincere and patient™, Nasser Gumilang said who served as one of the facilitators in the training.

Also, Guiamaludin Sampulna, trainor/facilitator opined that BDA believes that applying this Islamic values can lead to the attainment of total development.

Moreover, on February 2-4, similar training was conducted in Brgy. Rajamudah whose participants also proved receptive and active despite their busy schedule in their area.

Amerudin Abas, a.k.a. commander jack has shared words of encouragement to the participants during the closing program.

Other facilitators also included Montaser Mamalangkap, Maamun Ibrahim, Farouk Omar with overall support from Ismael Balayanan as community organizer.

This VTT, one of the several trainings given to target communities as part of the confidence building program, is funded under the BDA-OPAPP-UNDP project.
