Community development students undergo VTT thru BDA-Cenmin Region

Thirteen (13) on the job trainees from the Cotabato City State Polytechnic College (CCSPC) underwent Values Transformation Training (VTT) conducted by the Bangsamoro Development Agency-Central Mindanao Region (BDA-CenMin) on February 3-5, 2017 at the latter’s office in Cotabato City.

According to Anuar Cabalo, peace building coordinator, the said activity aimed to strengthen the values among the students in line with the Islamic perspective which may help them in attaining the peace and development in Mindanao.

“Their field of specialization which is community development really suits in the objective of this activity”, Cabalo said.

“It is really essential to let them be equipped Islamic values which they may apply within themselves and would definitely help them along the way”, he added.

“For they also part of the continuous aspiration of the Bangsamoro towards progress and better future”, he added.

Cabalo also shared that after the eight sessions of the VTT, the OJTs were given a chance to share their reflection.

“Reflection was about sharing their story of lives through drawing relating to their story before and after the VTT”, he added.

Among the participants was Raisa Mikunug-Masukat, a Maranao.

“I drew a picture of day and night. Before, I was like a night who was covered by a dark personality. Dark in a sense that I don’t know yet what’s the real meaning of my religion”, she said.

“And now, alhamdulillah, through VTT, I was enlightened and living with fear of Allah S.W.T.”, she added.

“Realization came on me during the sessions”, Masukat added.

The three-day training was facilitated by Mohalidin Lumabao, Nadheer Esmael, and Engr. Tohamie Ibrahim.

BDA had been catering intern students from different college schools under its Human Resource Development (HRD) Division.

VTT is a flagship program of BDA which aim is line with the guiding principle of the agency that change must begin first at one’s self.
