Representatives from the food security sectors including the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA), the development agency of the MILF recently convened on January 7-9, 2019 at Cotabato City for the Consultation Workshop for the Integration of Food Security and Nutrition to Bangsamoro Transition Plan organized by the United Nations-World Food Programme (UNWFP).
The activity was intended to identify core technical team to promote integration of Food Security and Nutrition and formulate action plan forward.
In his message, Mohammad S. Yacob, BDA executive director told that food security will be among the priorities for the upcoming Bangsamoro Government because it is one of the basic needs of the people.
“While we recognize the importance of infrastructure projects, we believed that we also have to address the primary needs of the people”, he said.
Dir.Yacob thanked the UNWFP for organizing the event and expressed high expectation of the activity.
BDA and UNWFP have worked together for a complementary project on food security and environmental management sometimes in 2013-2014.
