After long years of fetching water from the mountain, community members of Brgy. Datalpandan in Guindulungan, Maguindanao will no longer need to climb higher to get clean water for drinking now that project on water system was completed and formally turned over to them on February 11, 2019.
The project is under the Mindanao Trust Fund-Reconstruction and Development Project Phase II (MTFRDP/2), a program partnership signed between the BDA and CFSI, which aim is to improve access of targeted communities in the conflict-affected areas in Mindanao to basic socio-economic infrastructure and alternative learning system.
During the turn-over ceremony, project stakeholders rejoiced and expressed gratitude to the donors and implementers of the project.
Sheikh Bashir Abdulbayan, co-chairman of the JTFCT was thankful and said that “we are indeed grateful for this project, people cannot believe that there is this kind of project in up in the mountain”.
“We thank BDA and CFSI”, he ended.
Representative from the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) stated that “there have been projects that came here in our community but this one is incomparable”.
This water system project was built with seven tap stands distributed in every Sitio of the barangay to ensure equal access of the seventy-five households who will benefit from the project.
