H.E. Ambassador Koji Haneda visited the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) on November 28, 2017 at the agency’s Central Management Office (CMO) located at Brgy. Datu Balabaran, Cotabato City.
Dr. Saffrullah Dipatuan, BDA chairman together with agency’s key officials welcomed the Ambassador who was accompanied by Susumo Ito, chief representative of JICA Philippines; Hiroyuki Kawamoto and Hidetaka Ushijima of the Embassy of Japan (EOJ) and Naoyuki Ochiai, head and chief leader of Japn International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Cotabato Project Office.
In the meeting, BDA discussed about its current and future activities to the visitors.
Chairman Dipatuan highlighted the success and the replication of the Community Development in Conflict-affected Areas in Mindanao (CD-CAAM) Project supported by JICA. He also shared stories about the Marawi crisis.
Ambassador Haneda expressed the continued support of the Government of Japan through the Japan-Bangsamoro Initiative for Reconstruction and Development (J-BIRD). He also said that the EOJ is still accepting proposals for small grant projects and that they will continue supporting the peace process.
Afterwards, Chair Dipatuan toured the guests to the Bangsamoro Development Center in Cotabato City (BDCCI), a training center established through the support of the EOJ.
