For improved quality of health services in the Bangsamoro, various medical equipment were recently handed to Amanah Birthing Clinic in Camp Darapan, Sultan Kudarat on March 8, 2017.
The said equipment were ultra sound machine, delivery table, examining table, five beds for the patient, DR table, wheelchair, medical supply for the pregnant and others; equipment like new computers, mono block chairs, desktop with table, medication cabinet, generator and among others.
The turn over ceremony was witnessed by Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Chairman Alhaj Murad Ebrahim; Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) Executive Director Mohammad S. Yacob; United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) country representative Klaus Beck; and Dr. Danda Juanday and Dr. Sherjan P. Kalim of the Bangsamoro Medical Society (BMS).
According to Allan Calido, RH coordinator, “we want to provide quality services to our stakeholders specially the women who are our primary target for this program on strengthening reproductive health”.
Calido further reported that the equipment were from the country of Germany.
“We want to meet international standard for our facility because people deserve it and this also one way to level up our health facility towards better services”, he added.
“Our next target is to replicate the facility to other areas in the Bangsamoro”, Calido said.
“We want to eliminate maternal and child and mortality. We want to increase the quality of health services in our camps”, he pointed out.
This milestone in the Bangsamoro is made possible through the program dubbed as Strengthening Capacities for RH Service Delivery supported by the UNFPA.
The program aims to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality and promote gender equality in the Bangsamoro and thus, contribute to the attainment of peace and development in Southern Philippines.
