Orphans from the Ugur Soleyman Suleymez Orphanage were engaged to a three-day Orphan Solidarity Days on March 26-28, 2017.
According to Aniza Taha, orphanage director, the activity is organized annually for the children for their personal development in engaging with one another, realize the wonderful environment outside the orphanage and most importantly to make them feel happy as an orphans.
“This is an annual activity with a theme “all smile if an orphan smile”, wherein we wanted to let them enjoy after the whole school year”, Taha said.
“We wanted them to feel how wonderful world is”, Taha added.
The three-day activity was held in Paraiso Verde in Koronadal City, South Cotabato (Mar. 26), Lake Sebu, South Cot. (Mar. 27) and Club Cusiong, Kusiong, Datu Odin Sinsuat (DOS), Maguindanao (Mar. 28).
“We have visited the 7 falls in Lake Sebu and taken our launch at Punta Isla, Lake Resort”, Taha said.
The trip also included tour in the Pink Mosque (Masjid Dimaukom) in the municipality of Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao.
“Indeed! I saw the joy in their faces. Everybody was smiling and was amazed by the beautiful ambience they see wherever we go”, she added.
Taha reported that various activities were also organized such as quiz bee, tug of war, race in filling the bottle with water and among others.
“Visitors from Turkey also joined during these special days for the orphans”, Taha added.
Taha further stated that swimming and boating were also part of the activity.
The Ugur Suleyman Soylemez Orphanage with 78 in-house orphans is being managed by BDA since 2015 through the support of the Insani Yardim Vakfi (IHH), a Turkey-based humanitarian foundation.
