The field visit is part of the 13th Implementation Support Mission (ISM) conducted by the World Bank, being the secretariat of the Mindanao Trust Fund (MTF), a multi-donor fund facility supporting the implementation of the Bangsamoro Assistance for Development and Community Empowerment (B-ADVANCE), the Program Partnership Agreement (PPA) Solidarity and the Programme for Local Economic Development thru Enlightened Governance and Grassroots Empowerment (PLEDGE).
Among others, the ISM field visit aims to review the state of implementation of the program which included a combination of document review and site visits to community recipients of the B-Advance and PLEDGE.
The first day of the activity was conducted in a PLEDGE site at Brgy. Pigkalagan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.
According to Tunggal Benito, Community Enterprise Development Officer (CEDO), the said program has four enterprises such as the following: bamboo craft production, bread and pastry production, banana processing and vegetable production.
During early part of the program, particularly in “kumustahan”, Sir Roberto Tordecillo, World Bank Representative emphasized that, “through unity, we can help one another.”
Sir Tordecillo also said, “We came again to check your status.”
Different concerns arise during the community interaction specifically in the progress of the projects and the status of the People’s Organization (PO).
On the 2nd day, the team proceeded to Barangay Upper Idtig, a project site under the B-Advance program.
During the interaction, Aldren Kunak, PO President of Upper Idtig noticeably said, “the projects can help us in our survival”.
“Like, free flowing, we can assure that the water we drink is potable”, he added.
It was reported that the 13th ISM was also participated by the representatives from European Union (EU) and other partners from the Community Family Services International (CSFI), Mindanao Land Foundation (MinLand), International Labour Organization (ILO), and Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPPAP).
The 13th ISM, a monitoring activity of the World Bank were also conducted in other sites across the six regions and two provinces of BDA.
