3,119 individuals in Brgy. Ulitan, Ungkaya Pukan will benefit from the solar dryer with warehouse constructed in said barangay while 2, 943 beneficiaries in Brgy. Guiong, Sumisip all in the province of Basilan.
The project is implemented by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) through the Bangsamoro Assistance for Development and Community Empowerment (Bangsamoro ADVANCE) Component of the Mindanao Trust Fund- Reconstruction and Development Program (MTFRDP).
Brgy. Ulitan and Brgy. Guiong are both home to Yakan. Majority of them in said villages rely on farming for income to sustain their families.
The solar dryer with warehouse project will be very helpful to improve the storage and drying of their crops and also serve as facility for local gatherings in their community.
Bangsamoro ADVANCE is a program conceptualized in support to confidence building measures of the GPH- MILF as provided in the Comprehensive Agreement on Bangsamoro (CAB). This was also in respond to the clamour from the communities especially on the implementation of basic services including livelihood opportunities.
Bangsamoro ADVANCE is implemented in partnership with the Community and Family Services International (CFSI) as trust fund recipient.
It is supported by the Mindanao Trust Fund (MTF) with various donors such as the European Union, the government of Sweden, Australia, Canada, United States, New Zealand and the World Bank which also serves as Trust Fund Administrator and Secretariat.
