Officials from the Prime Minister’s Office of the Republic of Turkey led by Dr. Kudret Bϋlbϋl, President for Turks Abroad and Related Communities paid visit to the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) on October 1, 2016 at the BDA Central Management Office , Brgy. Datu Balabaran, Cotabato City.
BDA executive director Mohammad S. Yacob, together with agency’s key staff, welcomed the delegation of Dr. Bϋlbϋl and party.
Delighted by the Turkey high-ranking officials visit, Director Yacob welcomed and accepted brothers from the Republic of Turkey and said “Your visit is indeed historic for us. It indicates that the Republic of Turkey thru its Embassy in the Philippines has been working with the Government of Philippines (GPH) and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) for peace and development in the Bangsamoro.”
He also mentioned the on-going support of the Turkey government through Insani Yardim Vakfi (IHH) and Turkiye Dyanet Vakfi (TDV) for the programs implemented by BDA such as the humanitarian program (relief distribution, Ramadhan Program and Qurban Program) and orphanage program.
Dr. Bϋlbϋl informed that Republic of Turkey is committed to pursue their support to the GPH-MILF peace process particularly of the development aspect. He is looking forward to sustain and expand BDA partnership with Turkey with regard to humanitarian, rehabilitation and development in the Bangsamoro.
Engr. Windel Diangcalan, BDA deputy executive director presented highlights of the BDA strategic direction from 2016 and beyond that served as reference in the short discussion with the Turkey delegation on moving forward intervention in the Bangsamoro.
On a question about BDA program on culture and identity, Engr. Diangcalan responded that it is part of the BDA thrusts informed by the Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP). Quick impact projects can be drawn from the BDP Integrative Report but the medium to long term phase will be work in progress and that the agency welcomed possible collaboration with key partners.
