Towards strong camaraderie among its volunteers, staff and officials, the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) through its Human Resource Development (HRD) Division organized the Volunteers Weekly Gathering every Sunday afternoon at Bangsamoro Development Center in Cotabato City, Inc. (BDCCI) located beside BDA’s Central Management Office (CMO) at Brgy. Datu Balabaran, Cotabato City.
Geared as venue for imparting of knowledge and teachings of Islam, this gathering was piloted on October 15, 2017 at the said venue.
The activity allowed both pioneering and new BDA staff, volunteers and even members of the Board of Directors (BOD) to meet and greet each other and share updates about BDA and as well as their respective tasks.
During the pilot gathering on October 15, BDA Executive Director Mohammad S. Yacob spoke about volunteerism and the commitment to continue serving the Bangsamoro.
“Even one’s presence here at the office is very relevant already to see that we are united and strong despite our current situation at BDA”, he pointed out.
Dir. Yacob added that patience is very important in one’s commitment and volunteerism along with being faithful.
“Many people are still asking for food to feed their families, our brothers and sisters who are affected by conflict and natural calamities, and we have to realize that as BDA, these people are waiting for our service. Let us all pray that Allah (swt) may continue to guide as to keep going and be stronger”, Yacob told.
BDA is the development arm of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) primarily mandated for the relief, rehabilitation and development of the marginalized communities.
For fifteen (15) years, BDA has already been managing development projects that brings hopes to affected communities that peace and development is possible.
Volunteerism is one of the values that is being promoted and strengthened at the agency as it is one of its main foundations since inception in 2001.
