Ranaw locals support community dev’t.project from BDA-MTF
This support was manifested by their willingness to be part of the community volunteers who were selected through a pre-membership orientation conducted in line with the on-going entry activities for the program on Bangsamoro Assistance for Development and Community Empowerment (B-ADVANCE) implemented by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA).
Pre-membership orientation is done along with the community-wide orientation which is among the initial steps of the program implementation in reaching the project sites.
In Brgy. Dapao, Pualas, Lanao del Sur the activity was conducted on July 21, 2016.
Abu Salman, Base Commander in the community expressed thanks and gratitude to the program.
In Brgy. Talub, Masiu, Lanao del Sur, the activity was conducted on June 27, 2016.
According to Umayah S. Camarodin, community organizer, participants were interested in listening with the facilitators and shared their ideas for community development.
In Brgy. Mama-anun, Baloi, Lanao del Norte, same activity was held on June 29, 2016.
Said barangays are among the sixteen (16) barangays in Lanao province selected as recipients of the program.
In this entry activities, BDA staff in Ranaw Region discussed and presented about the agency and key information about the program.
Identification of priority projects in the community was also facilitated by the staff during the activity.
Community members who were selected for pre-membership were oriented of the roles and responsibilities for them to understand their tasks as they will be taking charge of the project to be implemented in their barangay.
B-Advance with fifty (50) sites is conceptualized in support to confidence building measures of the GPH- MILF as provided in the Comprehensive Agreement on Bangsamoro (CAB). This was also in respond to the clamour from the communities especially on the implementation of basic services including livelihood opportunities.
Mindanao Land Foundation is the trust fund recipient of the program.
B-Advance is supported by the MTF with various donors such as such as the European Union, the Swedish International Development Agency, the Australian Embassy Philippines, Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development of Canada, the United States Agency for International Development, the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the World Bank.
