UN new resident coordinator to the Phils. visits BDA

The Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) welcomes Ola Almgren, the new resident coordinator of the United Nations in the Philippines during a visit at the agency’s office in Cotabato City yesterday, October 26, 2015.
He was welcomed by BDA executive director Mohammad S. Yacob and Engr. Windel Diangcalan, deputy exec.director, together with other staff of the agency.
In the meeting, ED Yacob briefly introduced BDA to the visitors, the agency’s mandate, programs and its future plans as development arm of the MILF.
The Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) was one of the highlights of the meeting as discussed mainly by Engr. Diangcalan.
Almgren, expressed the UN’s willingness to work in Mindanao specifically in support to the peace process and in pursuit of peace and development in the region.
Areas of possible collaboration between BDA and UN were also discussed during the meeting.
