A three-day Youth Recreational Activity was simultaneously conducted in the three (3) regions of Basilan, Ranaw and Zamboanga Peninsula on August 16-20, 2013.
In Basilan, the activity was conducted at Barangay Langgung. In Ranaw, it was in brgy. Sandab while in ZamPen Region, the activity was done at Brgy. Pulang Lupa.
This activity highlights the participation of young people of the communities especially the organized Youth Focal Points (YFP). It aims to provide an opportunity for the youth to enjoy their youthful, active body and ideal minds with games, sports and art works organized for this affair.
Part of the activity is the provision of input on Child Protection and Grave Child Rights Violations (GCRVs). It also became the venue for a community extension planning to specifically bring awareness to the entire community or barangay on child protection and the six grave child rights violations.
Though this affair was particularly designed for the youth; parents, BLGUs and other community members also showed their support, participation and appreciation in organizing the activity.
This activity was designed as the major activity of the Child Protection Project of the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) funded by the UNICEF.
