Basilan locals set up community learning center thru MTF-RDP support

Community in Barangay Bohe Pahu in Ungkaya Pukan municipality in Basilan province has much to be grateful before the year 2014 ends.
The community formally received a sub-project from the Mindanao Trust Fund Reconstruction and Development Program (MTF-RDP) through its People’s Organization (PO) Kamalig Kasanyangan Salama Lama Association on December 31, 2014.
The turn-over of the community learning center (CLC) was graced by the locals in the barangay and representative from the municipal local government of Ungkaya Pukan.
Multi-sectoral committee (MSC) chairperson Ustadz Hudrie Jallamar expressed thanks to the program and the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) and pledged of continuous support of the local government to development projects.
Paang Estajal, Brgy. chairman of Bohe Pahu congratulated the PO for their cooperation that led towards the successful implementation of their community sub-project.
MTF-RDP employs a community driven-development (CDD) approach. It empowers the community members and chart their own development priorities responsive to the needs of their community.
The sub-project will serve as social activity center in the community is expected to benefit about 2, 922 individuals.
MTF-RDP is implemented by BDA with support from various donors such as the European Union (EU), DFAT Australia (then AusAID), Canadian International Development Agency, New Zealand Aid for International Development, Sweden International Development Agency, United States Aid for International Development and the World Bank.
