BDA attends 1st Microfinance Practitioners Summit

The Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) has recently attended the 1st Microfinance Practitioners Summit on October 1-2, 2015 at Davao City.

Hamodi L. Tiboron, CPA, head of BDA finance division provided inputs on Developing Financial Inclusion Strategy for ARMM.

He presented about BDA’s ways of implementing programs and projects in conflict-affected areas, Islamic Banking and Finance and even the norms, values, culture and attitudes of Bangsamoro people.

He also highlighted Priority Programs on Economy and Livelihood under the Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP).

BDA is currently implementing programs with various partners such as the World Bank, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nation’s Population Fund (UNFPA), Turkiye Diyanet Vakfi, Insani Yardim Vakfi, among others.

Tiboron also got the chance to share about the real condition of the Bangsamoro people which according to him play a vital role in awakening the rest of the Filipino that there is this group of marginalized people suffering from long history of religious, political, social and economic injustices among others who are in need of committed individuals and entities for genuine and long-lasting partnership to achieve sustainable peace and development.

The event organized by the Mindanao Microfinance Council was joined by local and national experts on the field of finance and banking.
