Unity and solidarity are the primary objectives of Bangsamoro Development Agency-Central Mindanao (BDA-CenMin) Region on its plan to form people’s organization (PO) federation.

Accordingly, this initiative on PO federation was discussed in a recent meeting of the regions’ coordinators for program and project based operations on August 3, 2015 at the Session Hall of BDA-CenMin Regional Management Office (RMO) in Cotabato City.

In the meeting, coordinators agree that forming PO federation is very much important as it will strengthen the unity and solidarity and establish strong collaboration of all POs organized by BDA-CenMin since the start of its operation in 2015.

“This is particularly important to give greater recognition on the importance POs in the Bangsamoro communities in continuously building people who will build the nation” Karnain Mamalangkas, BDA Cenmin Program Coordination Officer (PCO) said.

Mamalangkas added, “the coordinators agreed to meet the BDA-Provincial Management Offices (BDA-PMO) under this region in order to discuss with them this initiative and come up with the best possible approaches to be done in order to ensure the success of this noble-purpose endeavor”.

Engr. Abdulwahid Sendad, Project Coordinator for Community Development in Conflict-affected Areas in Mindanao (CD-CAAM) Project said: “the meeting with BDA-PMO will be done per province which will start in the soonest possible time”.

Engr. Sendad further said, this activity is in support to ensure that all POs organized by BDA-CenMin are intact and working toward the vision of the BDA.

BDA-CenMin recognizes the great importance of people in their role of being development agents and catalysts of change while considering the saying that in “unity there is strength”.

Also, BDA-CenMin believes that, while there is an existence of local, national and international supports for development intervention, it is primarily through local peoples and their collective efforts that the right change can be achieved to sustain holistic development.

BDA-CenMin is the proponent of Youth Development Program (YDP) and Muslim Blood Donation (MBD).

It covers the provinces of Maguindanao, North Cotabato, some areas of Bukidnon and other areas of Sultan Kudarat.
