The Bangsamoro Development Agency-Central Mindanao (BDA-CenMin) Region through its health program firms up MBD schedule for the last quarter of 2015 during the 2-day quarterly mobile meeting by the Regional Management Office - Provincial Development Catalysts (RMO-PDC) on October 3-4, 2015 at Malingon, Biwang, Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat Province.

It was reported that the schedules prepared was finalized in conformity with the Provincial Management Offices of this region through their development catalysts and other volunteers.

Such schedule according to Carolyn B. Biruar, R.N., BDA-CenMin MBD Regional Coordinator was prepared despite the challenges facing the BDA-CenMin in its health program, particularly the MBD.

During the meeting, she highlighted some of the challenges in the region along with the operation in advocating and conducting MBD in various areas of the Bangsamoro and other neighboring areas.

This accordingly is part of encouragement to the staff and volunteers of the agency from this region down to provincial, municipal and barangay levels in order to double their efforts and strengthen their initiatives in the pursuit of this engagement.

“Among the challenges is that there are donors claiming their own blood deposits that are using harsh words if they fail to do so amidst the utmost gentleness and respect of our volunteers in charge to respond appropriately,” Biruar reported.

She added that such challenge calls for another challenge such as the need to strengthen advocacy on MBD and all other related activities in order to further educate the blood donors.

“Another challenge is the increasing need for blood faster than the increase in the number of donors where strong advocacy is highly needed along with our series of MBD schedules this quarter and beyond”, Biruar emphasized.

This call to strengthen advocacy for MBD was supported by Rosdith Buntag, Assistant Regional Coordinator of the program.

“Strengthening the advocacy in all MBD related activities is among the appropriate ways to properly address many of the challenges facing the BDA-CenMin operation about blood donation”, she stressed.

Hashim B. Manticayan, Regional Manager of BDA-CenMin said, that the Regional Management Office is trying very hard despite the challenges being faced in order to strengthen the operation and increase the services by educating and making the Bangsamoro and other stakeholders prepare and volunteer themselves as lifetime engagement to share their lives by donating blood along with our series of MBD activities”.

“Thus we are encouraging all the PDCs and volunteers of BDA-CenMin to cooperate with us and do your part in continuously strengthening our advocacy in order to educate the masses that will increase the number of our donors per province because the higher level of need for blood is constantly increasing”, RM Manticayan emphasized.
