BDA Central Mindanao facilitates appraisal and approval of sub-project proposals under Mindanao Trust Fund Reconstruction and Development program

The fourth Program Partnership Agreement (PPA4) of Mindanao Trust Fund for Reconstruction and Development Program (MTFRDP) and Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) finally gained tangible output for the first year of operation at the Central Mindanao Region of BDA based in Cotabato City headed by Mr. Hashim Manticayan, the Regional Manager.
With the hard work and perseverance of the stakeholders involved especially the management and staff of BDA Central Mindanao (CenMin), more than 10 SPPs or 150% of the target were successfully appraised as of April 3, 2013.
The Multi-sectoral Committee (MSC), a local special body composed of key sectors from the municipal local government units (MLGUs) expected to provide mechanisms for site selection and sub-project approval and monitoring, evaluated and approved 15 sub-projects (SPPs) in 14 (out of 15) barangays in Central Mindanao region.
The BDA (CenMin) field staff then facilitated the signing of the Sub-Project Agreement (SPA) among the municipal local government units, barangay local government units, and barangay community volunteers.
The sub-projects are:
1) 10 units of Latrine at Barangay Ganta, Kabuntalan;
2) 6 units of Hydro Tiller and 2 Irrigation pumps at Barangay Maitong, Kabuntalan;
3) 6 units of Hydro Tiller and 3 Irrigation Pumps at Barangay Matilak, Kabuntalan;
4) 9 units of Corn Sheller at Barangay Pandan, South Upi;
5) 6 units of Corn Sheller at Barangay Pilar, South Upi;
6) 3 units of Hydro Tiller at Barangay Lao-Lao, Gen. Salipada K. Pendatun;
7) 5 units of Hydro Tiller at Barangay Tonggol, Gen. Salipada K. Pendatun;
8) 36 sets of Fishing facility at Barangay Midpandacan, Gen. Salipada K. Pendatun;
9) 4 units of Hydro Tiller at Barangay Midpandacan, Gen. Salipada K. Pendatun;
10) 5 units of Hydro Tiller, one-unit Corn Sheller, and one-unit Hauler at Barangay Masulot, Sultan Sa Barongis;
11) 8 units of Hydro Tiller at Barangay Kulambog, Sultan Sa Barongis;
12) 92 sets of Fishing Facility (Polynet) at Barnagay Darampua, Sultan Sa Barongis;
13) 7 units of Latrine with Jetmatic Hand Pump Water System at Barangay Tugal, Midsayap;
14) 291 sets of Fishing Facility (Polynet) at Barangay Macasendeg, Midsayap;
15) 3 units of Hauler at Barangay Rangaban, Midsayap.
These sub-projects are expected to be completed by June 2013.
The PPA4 implementation officially started on April 26, 2012. It is a 3-year period partnership agreement which will end on April 25, 2015. Central Mindanao Region covers 5 municipalities namely Kabuntalan, South Upi, Gen. S.K. Pendatun and Sultan sa Barongis in Maguindanao Province, and Midsayap in North Cotabato Province. The program operates at 15 barangays in five (5) priority municipalities.
