BDA completes year-end assessment of MTFRDP, gears up before the partnership agreement closes first quarter of 2015

A region-wide assessment for the second year of the 4th program partnership agreement (PPA4) implementation of the Mindanao Trust Fund for Reconstruction and Development Program (MTF-RDP) implemented by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) ends today, May 25, 2014. The activity commenced on May 18, 2014 as first leg was conducted at Zamboanga- Basilan region, followed by Zamboanga Peninsula, the Ranaw, Central Mindanao, Southern Mindanao and Davao Region. Key staff of BDA Central Management Office this program facilitated the activity.
Among the major highlights of the activity were the presentation of the results and findings of the Internal Assessment conducted on March 9-20, 2014 in six regions of BDA where the program operated , 9th Implementation Support Mission (ISM) conducted on March 24-27, 2014 in project sites in Central Mindanao region, overall progress of the program and guidance on Year 3 planning parameters.
Internal assessment and implementation support mission are conducted every year together with various program partners to get first-hand information and feedback through community interactions and dialogue with local partners who are involve in the CDD process and have some sense of the impact of the activities in their lives of the people in the communities.
From the presentation of the findings of the above activities, BDA staff at the six regions were able to identify which areas are they are best at thus far and which areas they should improve further. It also included identification of best practices, lessons learned, challenges and recommendations.
Together with a member of Project Technical Team (PTT), regions prepared their plans and it was presented during the activity.
Plans submitted by the regions will be discussed further during the presentation of the Consolidated Year 3 Work and Financial Plan on May 27-28, 2014 at Davao City. Key staff from both BDA Central Management Office and Regional Management Offices (RMOs) will convene for the said activity. Program partners will also join the consolidation activity.
MTF-RDP aims to assist the social and economic recovery for the conflict affected areas in Mindanao. It is a multi-donor fund facility administered by the World Bank with the following development partners: European Union (EU), DFAT Australia (then AusAID), Canadian International Development Agency, New Zealand Aid for International Development, Sweden International Development Agency, United States Aid for International Development and the World Bank.
For the past years, the program has benefited 412, 219 number of beneficiaries in 243 sites across six regions in Mindanao.
