BDA conducts basic training on safety and security

Security officers, drivers and logistics officers of the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) underwent training on basic safety and security on September 18-19, 2015 at Cotabato City.
Some key officials from BDA: the executive director, regional managers, consultant and member of the Board of Directors graced the activity.
Lectures were provided by a resource person from Kabalikat Civicom.
The training was aimed to equip participants on skills and knowledge on safety and security, strengthen the existing safety and security procedures of BDA; and establish safety and security plans for BDA operations.
In his opening remarks, Ustadz Luqman Tandalong, BDA-Davao regional manager related the importance of safety and security in Islam.
“If you are a Muslim, you must feel that you’re secured because Islam is peace and it means, when there is a peace, you are secured”, Tandalong stated.
Engr. Ismail Guiamel, BDA Adviser on Safety and Security facilitated the said training and defined security as a feeling/perception or the actual state of being protected against threats and risks while safety means the condition of being free from harm and /or danger/risks.
Joseph Erson Reyson resource person from Kabalikat Civicom shared to participants the Basic VHF Analog Radio Communication where he basically emphasized radio check.
Mohammad S. Yacob. BDA executive director emphasized that it is not only the safety and security of the staff but also the security of the agency.
Jamel Macaraya, BOD member, said that developing safety and security measures in the BDA and creating a procedure for its purpose indicating that BDA is capacitating its organization in attaining wide ranging development management.
