Faced by the challenge of the emerging political environment for the Bangsamoro, provincial and municipal development catalysts of the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) conducted series of consultation meeting with different sectors in the communities of Bangsamoro.

The first meeting was held on January 9, 2014 at Barangay Biniruan, Poblacion 9, Cotabato City while the other meeting was held on January 11, 2014 at Dansuli, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.

Purpose of these activities was to discuss current issues that are being faced by BDA in taking its roles in the future especially for the coming of the new political entity in the land.

The meeting in Cotabato City was participated by 67 participants from different sectors such as Political Committee of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), BDA Central Management Office (CMO), BDA Central Mindanao Region, Bandar Provincial Development Catalyst Chairman and staff. The City government of Cotabato also joined in the meeting represented by some members of the Sangguniang Panglungsod. Coming from the security sector was Police Chief S/Sup. Rolen Baqluin of Cotabato City.

Ustadz Guiahod Sandigan of MILF Dawah Committee, on his words of wisdom emphasized the significance of establishing values from every individual. He further elaborated the four classification level of man as instrument to bring the community progressive such as a good leader, Ulama, rich person and the poor.

Bandar Political Committee Chairman Ustadz Abdulkadir Yusop affirmed that through the forty years of struggle in the organization the MILF, Bangsamoro Development Agency is one of the products of negotiation between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the MILF, thus, he directed everyone to render support in any way possible to whatever program the BDA undertakes.

Biniruan Barangay Chairman Nasrudin E. Muhammad expressed full support to BDA in all of their programs.

Prof. Hashim Manticayan, Regional Manager of Central Mindanao highlighted the spiritual aspect as the primary springboard of a person towards true success and development.

The City Government of Cotabato also expressed willingness to support BDA especially in their quest for peace and order in the community.

Meeting in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat

The activity was joined by 160 committees and members of MILF Political Committee and Development Catalyst coming from the said province.

To name the few, they are: Sabila Angkay, Provincial Catalyst Chairman, Abdulkadir Abdullah Municipal Development Catalyst, Yusoph Abdullah, Municipal Chairman and Uzstadz Daud Madaliday, Provincial Chairman of MILF Political Committee,

They discussed the status and challenges of the different programs of BDA and identify possible solutions to address those problems.

Prof. Manticayan, highlighted the mandate of Bangsamoro Development Agency which is “Building People Who Will Build the Nation”.

Discussing about the Muslim Blood Donation (MBD) Program of BDA was Dr. Sherjan Kalim from Cotabato Regional Medical Center (CRMC). He gave a brief overview of the program and emphasized the importance of donating blood.

“In donating blood, you are able to help the person in need; it has health benefits for yourself and at the same time, you are able to do one of your responsibilities as a Muslim, that is to give and become generous to others, Dr. Kalim said.
