BDA drafts guidebook on project development and management

A draft guidebook on project development and management for the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) is currently enhanced by the agency following the recent training on the said subject on June 22-27, 2015 at Davao City.

Said training was facilitated by University of Queensland Technology (QUT) and the University of Mindanao (UM).

“This guidebook is the overall output of the recent training on project development and management conducted for BDA by Philippines-Australia Human Resource and Organizational Development Facility (PAHRODF) informed by the Bangsamoro Development Plan,” Mohammad S. Yacob said.

Yacob further said that the guidebook is scheduled for presentation to BDA Board of Directors for their concurrence and approval.

The guidebook accordingly has seven chapters on project management processes and cycle; project leadership: leadership roles of project managers; project initiation: design and stakeholder analysis; monitoring and evaluation; risk management planning; procurement management; and managing project closure: developing sustainability strategies.

Accordingly, the guidebook will be an organic reference and repository for project management templates and practical guidelines for BDA and its partners.

To note, it was in the said training that above topics based on the chapters of the guidebook, were presented and discussed to BDA participants who were composed of top management officials and key staff of the agency both at its Central Management Office (CMO) and Regional Management Offices (RMOs).

Participants were grouped into three and each group were asked to develop re-entry plan that applies to their respective divisions and programs.

BDA has six major divisions such as the administrative, finance, human resources, programs, institutional development and planning, monitoring and evaluation.

Under its program thrusts are special programs implemented with support from various partners.

Currently, the agency has implemented the following program partnerships such as: Mindanao Trust Fund-Reconstruction and Development Program (MTFRDP), Program for Local Economic Development through Enlightened Governance and Grassroots Empowerment (PLEDGE), Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) Project, Community Development in Conflict Affected Areas in Mindanao (CD-CAAM), Tahderiyyah Program with education, child protection and water, sanitation and health (WaSH) components, and Orphanage Care Program.
