BDA engineers undergo training on water system

As part of the intensified implementation of community sub-projects under the Mindanao Trust Fund Reconstruction and Development Program (MTF-RDP) implemented by Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA), rural infrastructure engineers both from regional management offices (RMOs) and central management office (CMO) recently underwent training on water system from March 15-18, 2015 at EM Manor Hotel, Cotabato City.
The training aimed to enhance the capacity of the RIEs at the regional level, especially those who were not involved in the preparation or implementation of water supply system, by providing them knowledge and skills based on the operation experiences of their colleagues and lessons learned.
The training also equipped the RIEs with the necessary competencies to allow them to contribute their learning in any future infrastructure development plan of the agency.
Engr. Nasser Sinarimbo, BDA organizational performance and management consultant (OPMC) shared input on the crucial role of BDA engineers in the Bangsamoro government. He emphasized that majority of the sub-projects implemented in the program belong to water system. Aside from fact water project is an effective means of community organizing, Engr. Sinarimbo stressed that “water is life”.
He enjoined the BDA Engineers to not just think water as project, but it should also think of potable water. The he put the challenge to the BDA Engineers to provide potable water to the Bangsamoro communities.
Meanwhile, water specialist Engr. Ryan Medina introduced software programme on water system design. He also presented some photos of new common apparatus/tools that might be helpful to use by the engineers in water system project.
Through the training, it is expected that implementation of water system sub-projects under the program will meet the set standards and ensured of quality for the beneficiaries.
There were at least 15 water system sub-projects turned over during the year 1 implementation of the program while 24 sub-projects that are ongoing.
Joining the training were regional monitoring and evaluation officers (RMEO) and members of the project technical team.
