BDA extends assistance to returned IDPs in NorthCot, Maguindanao

10422587_10204329485062074_1222971269216560105_n 11188155_10204329486702115_5238097244467042366_nIn its continuing service to extend help to needy communities, the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) reached out to 1, 850 families in Maguindanao and North Cotabato provinces on April 27 and April 29, 2015.

Said families are returned internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the recent military operation by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) against the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) following the Mamasapano incident in January 2015.

One thousand two hundred families were in Pikit, North Cotabato and Pagalungan, Maguindanao, while the 620 families were in Datu Saudi, Maguindanao.

Each family received a food pack of 5-kilo rice, canned goods, sugar, cooking oil and noodles.

Distribution of relief assistance were facilitated by BDA quick response team (QRT) together with staff from BDA Central Mindanao Region.

This humanitarian activities is supported by Insani Yardim Vakfi (IHH), a humanitarian foundation based in Turkey which partnership with BDA began in 2014.
