BDA gears up for MTF-RDP scaling up

As the Mindanao Trust Fund-Reconstruction and Development Program (MTF-RDP) 4th Program Partnership Agreement (PPA4) nears completion, the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) gears up towards the proposed scaling up of the program that is aligned with the agency’s institutional requirements.
A technical working group (TWG) was organized involving key program staff from BDA Central Management Office (CMO).
Series of meeting were conducted in conceptualizing workshop activities which aims to draft program concept paper. The first workshop was conducted on February 9-10, 2015 participated by CMO key staff to discuss program components, criteria for site selection, potential quick impact projects (QIP) based on the Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) and proposed implementation mechanism for the new program.
The second workshop invited participants from the seven (7) regional management offices (RMOs) of BDA currently conducted in Cotabato City. It aims to enjoin the RMO staff to provide input that shall be fitted to the distinct context in the Bangsamoro core territory and its adjacent areas, generate support and ownership of the process.
Consultation with the BDA management team will be done on February 25 in Davao City while workshop with the MTF secretariat is scheduled on February 27.
BDA has been implementing the MTF-RDP which was piloted in 2006.
From pilot implementation up to the current agreement, the program has already reached 412, 219 beneficiaries from 214 barangays in 75 municipalities across the six regions of BDA namely Central Mindanao, Ranaw, Davao, Southern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Zamboanga-Basilan(Data as of December 31, 2013).
Sub-project types that were implemented in those communities are community-based infrastructure, income generating projects and shelters.
MTF-RDP is supported by various donors such as the European Union (EU), DFAT Australia (then AusAID), Canadian International Development Agency, New Zealand Aid for International Development, Sweden International Development Agency, United States Aid for International Development and the World Bank.
