BDA inks MoA with Hiroshima Univ.for human resource dev’t. in Bangsamoro

Another historical event in Bangsamoro happened today October 8, 2015 at Bangsamoro Development Center in Cotabato City.
The signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) and Hiroshima University for the Global Hiroshima Project to Enhance Peacebuilding Human Resource Development for the Bangsamoro Government in Mindanao.

The MoA was signed by BDA Executive Director Mohammad S. Yacob and Meg Kagawa of Hiroshima Prefecture.

The event was witnessed by IMT representative on Socio-economic Unit Takayuki Nakagawa and representative from JICA Cotabato Office Shu Nishimaru;member of BDA board of directors Taupiq Alagasi, BDA regional managers and staff.

During the event, Kagawa presented overview of the project.

She stressed that the project is open for all Bangsamoro professionals who are willing to learn more knowledge and skills that will be useful for the Bangsamoro government.

In his message, Yacob reiterated the capacity building objectives of BDA which the agency has been wanting from partners for its people who shall be serving the Bangsamoro.

“Our partners have been asking if what BDA needs and wants, and we always answer that we need knowledge and skills over material matters,”Yacob stated.

In a closing message, Julhaina Cadon, Head of the BDA human resource division expressed thanks to Japan for the untiring and continuous support to Bangsamoro.

The Japanese government thru its various offices like the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), projects like the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP) has been in partnership with BDA for different programs already.

A 3-storey BDA training center was recently turned over which construction was supported by the GGP.

At present, JICA is supporting the implementation of Community Development in Conflict Affected Areas in Mindanao (CD-CAAM).

JICA thru its study team is also supporting the medium to long term plan of the Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP).
