The Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) through its provincial office in Ligawasan conducted Muslim Blood Donation (MBD) on September 13, 2015 at Gokotan, Pikit, North Cotabato.

Twenty three (23) blood units were collected from the said activity.

Neda Sapal, MBD provincial coordinator in this province reported that the result was out of the 45 people who intended to donate blood but were not qualified based on the screening process, e.g. some were below 50 kilograms which is one of the requirements.

The non-qualified donors though remained optimistic to donate blood and said that they will wait for another schedule and pray to be qualified for the next activity be of service to others.

With this, Rosdith Buntag, BDA-CenMin assistant regional coordinator for MBD expressed appreciation to the willingness of the donors to contribute to the activity.

“We are doing our best to conduct more MBD activity to give more opportunity for those people who are very willing to donate and share life,”Buntag stated.

She also thanked the entire leadership of BDA-Ligawasan Province for the smooth flow and successful conduct of MBD.

Guiamaludin Sampulna, Provincial Development Catalyst of this province expressed thanks to his colleagues for their strong unity and cooperation that resulted to the success of the activity even in his absence.

“We also express our thanks and gratitude to the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) and Bangsamoro Emergency Action Team (BEAT) for helping us and being the good partners for the conduct of MBD in our province since 2010″, Sampulna added.

He also thanked the BDA-CenMin for the continued supervision and finally to the donors for their unending commitment to donate blood.

Impression from donor

During the activity, one blood donor defined his experience of donating blood.

He was Abdunasser Kumilang, 29 years old, who said that donating blood is a safe engagement and a healthy lifestyle.

“It is also a form of worship because it is according to the sunnah of Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him (PBUH)”, added Kumilang.

BDA-Ligawasan Province covers some municipalities in Maguindanao and other areas of North Cotabato.
