BDA PLEDGE invades more communities in the CAAM

The Programme for Local Economic Development and Grassroots Empowerment (PLEDGE) implemented by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) is set to invade more communities in the conflict-affected areas in Mindanao (CAAM) following the recent approval of the target sites identified by the program on March 2, 2015.
From the pilot site in Brgy. Koronadal Proper, Polomolok, South Cotabato and that of Brgy. Mamaanun Proper in Piagapo, Lanao Del Sur, which implementation began in 2014, PLEDGE now covers 12 sites across the six regions of BDA.
The other 10 project sites are: 1) Brgy. Pisaan and 2) Brgy. Nian in Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur; 3) Brgy. Rantian in Piagapo, Lanao del Sur; 4) Brgy. Lucatan and 5) Brgy. Tomaong in Tarragona, Davao Oriental; 6) Brgy. Pigcalagan in Sultan Kudarat and 7) Brgy. North Binangga, Talayan in Maguidanao;. 8) Brgy. Datal Bob in T’Boli, South Cotabato; 9) Brgy. Seronggon and 10) Brgy. Candiis in Mohammad Ajul, Basilan.
PLEDGE team starts the preliminary implementation of the program on March 8, 2015 through simultaneous entry activities such as courtesy call to local government units and barangay wide orientation.
PLEDGE is the economic and livelihood component of Mindanao Trust Fund (MTF) administered by the World Bank with support from various donors such as the European Union (EU), DFAT Australia (then AusAID), Canadian International Development Agency, New Zealand Aid for International Development, Sweden International Development Agency, United States Aid for International Development (USAID).
International Labour Organization (ILO) is the trust fund recipient of the program.
The program aims to contribute to confidence and peace building efforts through local economic development and sustainable livelihood creation in conflict affected areas in Mindanao.
