BDA sets to sponsor orphans

With support from Insani Yardim Vakfi (IHH), a Turkey-based humanitarian foundation, the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) is set to sponsor Bangsamoro orphans that will kick off within this year. This in line with the operationalization of social welfare program thrust of the agency.
Dubbed as orphanage care, the program aims to extend help to orphans in Bangsamoro communities. Children who will qualify in the program will receive assistance offered by the program.
The agency is currently accepting applicants for the said humanitarian program.
According to Zaida Dimacisil, the orphanage director, the program has two types of sponsorship. “We have in-house and distant type of service for the children, “she added.
“In-house orphans are those who will be housed in our orphanage center, with free food and accommodation, education assistance including school uniform, supplies and others. While distant will not be housed but will receive a monthly allowance worth of Php 1, 500.00”, Dimasicil further said.
Accordingly, the orphanage named as Moro Orphanage Complex was established in year 2010 supporting number of orphans already.
“Through BDA-IHH partnership, our target is to strengthen our operation to be able to cater more orphans who really needs assistance,” executive director Dr. Mohammad Yacob stated.
BDA and IHH partnership began in 2014 with the Qurbani program implemented with other Turkish foundation which is the Turkiye iyanet Vakfi that supported also the implementation of Iftar program in Ramadhan last year.
