BDA sets up special activities for Ramadhan 2015

In line with the observance of the Holy month of Ramadhan 2015, the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) is holding special activities that are geared towards strong faith among the staff by providing opportunity for everyone to perform religious activities during this month.

These activities include daily 20-minute katheera (sermon) from Monday to Thursday every after duhor (noon prayer) where male staff designated for the day will share inputs on Ramadhan.

Katheera started on June 22, 2015 at masjid (place of prayer) beside BDA office.

Ramadhan symposium is also being conducted every Sunday of the whole month.

BDA is inviting resource person for a specific topic for this symposium held every duhor.

This weekly symposium started yesterday, June 21 where Ustadz Saguir Salendab, discussed about benefits of Ramadhan and how one Muslim can perform best in this holy month.

“Sabar”(patience) is among the values emphasized by Ustadz Salendab as very important for one Muslim to learn every Ramadhan.

“It has been a tradition at BDA to hold special activities during this Holy month of Ramadhan. Every Muslim is encouraged to do good deeds as Ramadhan offers multiple rewards for noble acts,” BDA executive director Mohammad S. Yacob said.

During this month also that BDA allows six-hour of office works for staff, especially for those who are directly involved or responsible in doing household chores in preparation of Iftar (breaking of fast).

Ramadhan 2015 started on June 18 and will end either on July 17 or July 18 depending on the moon sighting.

Ramadhan is the holiest month for Muslims and fasting during this month is among the five pillars of Islam.
