BDA, Turkey gov’t implements Qurban Program 2015

With common spirit of helping the needy and in the observance of Eid’l Adha (feast of sacrifice), brothers and sisters from Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) and from the government of Turkey acted together for the implementation of Qurban Program 2015.

The program started on September 24, 2015 and will be until Sept.26.

Turkiye Diyanet Vakfi (TDV) and Insani Yardim Vakfi (IHH) are supporting this program. BDA as the implementing agency identified the sites, facilitate the procurement of cows/cattle and the distribution of meats to poor communities targeted for this program.

During the 3-day implementation, partners from TDV and IHH were involved.

From BDA, it is the quick response team (QRT) who leads the overall facilitation of program implementation, while staff and volunteers of the agency also joined the activity.

BDA-QRT is under the social welfare program of BDA.

Through TDV support, 350 cows are sacrificed. 88 of this number are allotted for Central Mindanao Region, 33 for Southern Mindanao, 96 for Ranaw, 33 for Davao, 27 for Zamboanga-Basilan, 33 for Zamboanga Peninsula, 20 for Sulu and 20 Tawi-Tawi.

For IHH support, there are 130 cows which are distributed for communities in Central Mindanao region only.

Qurban program is in line with the observance of Eid’l Adha or feast of sacrifice, celebrated annually by the whole Muslim Ummah worldwide.

TDV and IHH started partnership with BDA for this program in 2014.
