BDA-WaSH undergoes project end review

Key program staff of Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) for the program on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) convened for a project end review on July 13-14, 2015 at El Bajada Hotel, Davao City.

The activity was facilitated by A Single Drop for Safe Water (ASWSD), a partner of the agency as service provider on capacity building

Objectives of the activity were to (1) determine the over-all project progress/accomplishment of WaSH program implementation and assess effectiveness of capacity development partner; 2) to identify highlights and draw out lessons and recommendations over the issues, challenges during the implementation and; 3) to review and develop work plan for future implementation of the BDA and UNICEF.

Accordingly, this project end review is a continuing effort of the ASWSD in institutionalizing WaSH program within the BDA in support to the education for children affected by armed conflict implemented under the Tahderiyyah program of the agency.

To note, a WaSH governance workshop was conducted on June 2-4, 2015 participated by key staff and management of BDA.

It was in 2014 that WaSH has been an integral component of the Tahderiyyah program together with child protection and education.

Since 2014, WaSH has recorded 18, 336 pupils conducting daily hand washing and tooth brushing, 13,393 number of enrollees administered with deworming pills , and 486 Tahderiyyah centers with WaSH facilities constructed with functioning operation and maintenance committees.

WaSH as component of the Tahderiyyah program is supported by supported by the DFAT Australia (then AusAiD) and in partnership with the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF).

ASDSW is also a partner of the agency as service provider on capacity building.
