BDP campaign kicks off, pool of ambassadors organized

The awareness campaign on the Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) kicked off on May 4, 2015 thru a training dubbed as speakers training at Davao City.
This campaign followed after the release of the electronic version of the Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) on the same date.
The objective of the training is to ensure the readiness of the Bangsamoro Development Plan’s (BDPs) internal and external roadshow.
Through this training, pool of ambassadors were organized across the seven regions of BDA such as Central Mindanao, Davao, Ranaw, Southern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Zamboanga-Basilan and Sulu Tawi-Tawi.
These BDP ambassadors are tasked to implement the agency’s BDP awareness campaign.
During the 5-day training, the ambassadors were oriented of the BDP content. Part of the discussion is an open forum where possible questions on the Plan came out.
Media practitioners provided inputs on development of communication plan that BDA has to formulate for this campaign.
Among these were identification of target audience and message development.
Strategy for effective communication like as storytelling and was also taught to the participants.
Inputs on effectively engaging with media were also significant topic during the training.
A simulation activity was also conducted to put participants on the actual scenario of being asked on BDP.
BDP’s target internal and external roadshow, from Mid-May 2015 to December 2015, are BDA staff of over 300 across the 7 regions, Bangsamoro grassroot communities, as well as local, national and international stakeholders.
BDA executive director Mohammad S. Yacob said, in his opening remarks, “I’m so grateful now to be here for two (2) reasons- firstly, as you make yourselves available for this activity, and secondly, the BDP’s on-going printing, which shall be open for dissemination very soon to our stakeholders”.
Lastly, he expressed his gratitude to the World Bank for the latter’s continuous support to BDA.
