CD-CAAM survey team underwent technical writing workshop for livestock sector

A Technical Survey Report Writeshop for Community Development in Conflict Affected Areas in Mindanao (CD-CAAM), implemented by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA), was recently conducted on July 2-3, 2015 at Iligan City.

Purpose of the writeshop is to standardize the technical survey report for both target municipalities of the project and to serve as a technical writing exercise for the livestock survey team.

A technical survey was aimed to determine the current status of the goat raising production in the selected municipalities present and to draw a deeper understanding of the livestock production situation of each target barangay.

The survey team of the project is composed BDA-CDCAAM staff namely, Engr. Ismail Guiamel, planning, monitoring, and evaluation officer (PMEO), Ibrahim P. Sali (Central Mindanao) and Engr. Jamel Omacaan, (Ranaw) regional project operation officer s(RPOO), IC Net Coordinator Daryl Valdez; and JICA expert Dr. Hideki Saito, D.V.M., Ph.D.

Valdez facilitated the write-shop through presentation of basic principles and basic techniques in technical writing.

Accordingly, technical writing will establish a uniform structure and tenor of technical survey report.

“Words have to be precise and specific; therefore there is a need for defining a technical term clearly” stressed Mr. Valdez.

Technical survey report is one of the most important bases in determining the most feasible barangays for the implementation of the livestock sector’s pilot project.

The finished technical survey report shall be distributed during the document study session during the barangay selection workshops.

Livelihood is the new component of the CD-CAAM project on its extension phase that started in May 2015.

CD-CAAM was piloted in year 2012 with components on agriculture, fisheries and infrastructure.

The project is implemented with support from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and in partnership with ICNet Limited, Inc. as service provider.
