CD-CAAM takes off for entry activity in target sites in Maguindanao

There’s no stopping for the implementation of the Community Development in Conflict Affected Areas in Mindanao (CD-CAAM)project of Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) as entry activities to communities took off on June 16, 2015 at Sultan Mastura, Maguindanao through a meeting with local government officials from the said town.

The activity served as courtesy call of the program to barangay chairmen and provided them updates on the status of pilot implementation of the project and at the same time introducing to them the extension phase of the program.

Engr. Ismail A. Guiamil, CD CAAM Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (PMEO) presented brief background of the project and its current focus for its extension phase.

Accordingly, livelihood support is the focus of this extension phase after the successful completion of the project on three components such as agriculture, fishery and infra.

Engr. Guiamil said this social preparation phase of the project helps on project awareness, increase acceptance, and highlight the importance of LGU’s participation.

“This is based on the CD-CAAM model where LGU’s participation is emphasized to increase sustainability, impact and visibility of interventions which attracts the attention of other potential development partners,” Engr. Guiamil said.

Part also of the program is the presentation of scheduled activities for the conduct of community profiling and technical survey to the potential barangays within the municipality.

Accordingly, this will orient the local leaders and solicit their acceptance and support to the conduct of the said activities.

LGU both municipal and barangay level expressed thanks for the continuous support that the BDA in partnership with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has provided to their communities.

In the activity were key program staff from the BDA Central Management Office (CMO) and Regional Management Office (RMO and ICNet Ltd, the service provider of the CD-CAAM project.

CD-CAAM extension phase was recently approved after it ended on March 2015. It started last May 15, 2015 and will end on July 2016.
