DAP, JICA implement Management Development Program for the Bangsamoro Development Agency
Categories: News, News about BDA
The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), is implementing the Management Development Program (MDP) for the Bangsamoro Development Agency’s (BDA) Board of Directors, central and regional managers, and key officers of the Bangsamoro Leadership and Management Institute (BLMI) under JICA’s program on Capacity Building for Community Development in Conflict-Affected Areas in Mindanao (CD-CAAM).
JICA sought the DAP’s services in June 2012 for the capacity development of the BDA, which led to a consultation workshop in August that DAP facilitated. On November 13 2012, JICA and DAP signed an agreement to implement the MDP for BDA.
The MDP includes courses that range from leadership and organization management to governance and development. The project’s initial implementation runs from November 2012 to March 2013.
The BDA is an entity created by virtue of the 2001 Tripoli Agreement between the Government of the Philippines and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. Its mandate is to determine, lead and manage the relief, rehabilitation and development projects in conflict-affected areas in Mindanao./Marie Bianca Esquijo - DAP
