Donor partners reaffirms continuous support to Bangsamoro

The signing of the Program Partnership Agreement for the Mindanao Trust Fund Reconstruction and Development Program (MTFRDP)- Institutional Strengthening Agreement happened yesterday September 14, 2015 at Camp Darapanan, Sultan Kudarat Maguindanao.
The signing was between MILF Chairman Al-Haj Murad Ibrahim and Axel Van Trotsenburg, World Bank Regional Vice President for East Asia & Pacific.
Accordingly, the agreement will provide Php 56 million in support to: (a) strengthen community-organizations across Mindanao to generate income to improve living standards and reduce poverty; (b) help identify priority projects and expand community understanding of and support for the Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP); and (c) deepen capacity-building support for the Bangsamoro Development Agency as the development arm of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
ISA to be implemented by the BDA has three components: (1) BDA Institutionalization; (2) BDP Roadshow, Planning and Validation of Priority Projects; and (3) PO Strengthening.
MTF is a fund facility administered by the World Bank with various donors such as the European Union (EU), DFAT Australia (then AusAID), DFATD Canada (then Canadian International Development Agency), New Zealand Aid for International Development, Sweden International Development Agency, and United States Aid for International Development (USAID).
Community and Family Services International (CFSI) and Mindanao Land Foundation are also partners as trust fund recipients.
