Experiential learning and technical training for peoples’organizations continues

Day 7 of experiential learning and technical training for 30 peoples’organizations (POs) of Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) through the Mindanao Trust Fund- Reconstruction and Development Program (MTFRDP).

These PO’s are coming from the six regions of BDA selected for strengthening towards making them operational as local enterprises in their community.

The activity started on November 9 and will be until Nov. 18, 2015.

Accoridngly, the goal of this activity is to develop and or enhance the participant’s knowledge and skills on enterprise management needed by the people’s organizations in managing their business.

The participants are grouped according to the sub-project types they have implemented in their communities. One group have water system projects while the other have non-water system projects such as farm machinery.

The training includes site visits to existing water system projects where participants are exposed to actual location of the project, the systems in placed for the management and operation of the facility.

Inputs on business planning, identification of business opportunities and business viability were also provided to the PO members.

PO Strengthening aims to strengthen and provide capacity building activities for these POs to develop them into local enterprises.

It is one of the components of the Institutional Strengthening Agreement (ISA) supported by the MTFRDP in partnership with the Community and Family Services International (CFSI) and Mindanao Land Foundation (MinLand).

It is supported by various donors such as the European Union; the Swedish International Development Agency; the Australian Embassy in the Philippines; Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada; the United States Agency for International Development; the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the World Bank, which also serves as the Trust Fund Secretariat.
