IMT officials visit BDA-CDCAAM project site in Lanao del Norte

Key officials of the International Monitoring Team (IMT) headed by Mr. Takayuki Nakagawa, chief coordinator for socio-economic sector and Mr. Badli Hisham Adam, deputy team leader of IMT Malaysia visited the Community Development in Conflict Affected Areas in Midnanao (CD-CAAM) pilot project site in Matungao, Lanao del Norte on May 28, 2015.
“Extending help in terms of development is the focus of our team under the socio-economic component that is why we are visiting project that contributes to the economic condition of the community, “Mr. Adam said during the team’s courtesy call to the local chief executive office of Matungao municipality.
“I have seen the project in Sultan Mastura, Maguinadanao and I must say that it was sustained by the community even after the CD-CAAM first phase” IMT Senior Adviser for Reconstruction and Development of Mindanao Mr. Takayuki Nakagawa said.
Together with BDA CMO and RMO Ranaw, the team visited the road maintenance in Barangay Bangco-Batal, road rehabilitation in Barangay Bubong Radapan-Cadayonan, tilapia culture in Barangay Pasayanon and vegetable production in Barangay Puntod.
“No wonder the project expands because of good result of the CD-CAAM during the first phase. This is a project worth visiting again and again,” Mr. Nakagawa said while hatching red tilapia in the fish cage.
To note, same team also visited the CD-CAAM project site in Sultan Mastura, Maguindanao during the first phase of the project.
CD-CAAM extension phase was recently approved after it needed in March 2015. It is now focusing on livelihood component and expanding operation in Tawi-Tawi province.
CD-CAAM is implemented by BDA with support from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and in partnership with ICNet Limited.
