IP community in Sarangani province receives post-harvest facility thru BDA-MTFRDP support

“Now, we have learned that Bangsamoro does not mean conflict/war, it means goodness/peace. At BDA, we don’t feel any discrimination. We are indigenous people (IP) and we received projects from Bangsamoro”.
The above is the statement of Ferdiman K. Wanan, Manobo chieftain in barangay Ticulab, Maitum, Sarangani during the turn-over ceremony of sub-project to the people in the community on May 27, 2015.
The community received farm machineries from Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) with support from Mindanao Trust Fund Reconstruction and Development Program (MTF-RDP).
During the turn-over ceremony, the whole barangay expressed thanks to BDA and MTF-RDP. A traditional dance was performed by the IP group in celebrating this successful event in their community.
The activity marks the official turn-over of the sub-project in the community for their ownership and management through Ticulab Peoples’ Organization (PO) organized under the program.
The PO underwent several trainings under the program in developing their skills and capacity on sub-project management including operation and maintenance, leadership, financial and procurement management, and values transformation training.
The turn-over ceremony was graced by members of the community, the barangay local government unit (BLGU), and representatives from municipal LGU of Maitum.
Total number of beneficiaries of the project is
Brgy. Ticulab is among the 65 project sites under the MTFRDP implemented by BDA.
MTF is fund facility administered by the World Bank and is supported by various donors such as the European Union (EU), DFAT Australia (then AusAID), DFATD Canada (then Canadian International Development Agency), New Zealand Aid for International Development, Sweden International Development Agency, and United States Aid for International Development (USAID).
