Japan-based TV network visits CD-CAAM project site in Maguindanao

Even beyond its successful pilot project completion, the Community Development in Conflict Affected Areas in Mindanao (CD-CAAM) Project implemented by Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) continues to get international coverage as one Japan-based television network recently visited one site of the project in Maguindanao on March 17, 2015.
The NHK (Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai) TV, a Japanese international TV visited demo farm in Brgy. Macabiso, fish pond in Brgy. Tambu and fish cage in Brgy. Solon in Sultan Mastura, Maguindanao.
During field visit, the team took photos and videos while the beneficiaries are on action doing their field activities. They took photos while they are harvesting vegetables, feeding tilapia fishes and constructing roads in the areas.
Also they interviewed some of the beneficiaries who successfully replicated the technology they learned from project to their own farm lands.
This NHK TV coverage will be shown to the national and international TV showing the outcome of the project that can further contribute to promote resilience within conflict-affected communities.
Joining the visit were CD-CAAM project staff both at regional management office (RMO) Central Mindanao and BDA central management office (CMO).
The visit was accompanied by International Monitoring Team (IMT), Head of Mission- 10, Major General Dato Dato’ Mohsin bin Sheikh Hassan and Chief Coordinator Socio-economic assistance for IMT, Mr. Takayuki Nakagawa.
IMT team expressed their support in the development of projects as a dividend of peace in Mindanao.
“Peace is always been understanding. We want to show the world that despite of what is happening in the southern part of Mindanao, we have successful and grateful stories of development here in Bangsamoro,” said Mr. Nakagawa.
The team was also joined by the Japan International Cooperation Ageny (JICA) Cotabato based office (JICA-CPO) headed by Mr. Juro Chikaraishi, Senior Advisor for Mindanao, Mr. Shu Nishimaru and Ms. Tonoko Yasunaga both Project Coordinator.
With the success of the CD-CAAM project, it draws attention to different organization, be it government, non-government, national and international agencies.
The demonstration farm and demonstration pond of CD-CAAM were highly recognized for its success and different sectors both national and international.
