JICA Phil. conducts project review to BDA CD-CAAM pilot sites

As part of terminal evaluation for the project on Capacity Building for Community Development in Conflict-Affected Areas in Mindanao (CD-CAAM), the Japan International Cooperation Agency, Philippines Office (JICA Phil) recently conducted participatory project review on December 16, 2014 at Matungao, Lanao del Norte.

During the visit, project staff visited pilot projects in different barangays in Matungao and conducted interviews to municipal local government unit (MLGU) and beneficiaries to know the status of the project and track its promoting and hindering factors, and extract lessons learned from the implementation of the project.

A survey specialist was hired to gather data from the community.

The result of the survey will act as a basis for the proposed extension of the project after it ends by March 2015.

Same participatory review is scheduled on January 6, 2015 at project sites in will be Sultan Mastura, Maguindanao.

CD-CAAM is piloted in Lanao del Norte and Maguindanao provinces.

Through the project, local farmers and fisher folks received livelihood and capacity building assistance.

Demo farms and ponds were established in local communities that helped increased the income of the locals.

It taught them maximized available resources in their locality through new skills and technologies introduced by the project.

CD-CAAM is implemented by BDA with support from JICA and ICNet Limited.
