Partner LGUs of BDA-Central Mindanao commit continuous support to MTF-RDP

Local government units in five (5) municipalities of Central Mindanao Region of the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) commit continuous support to the Cycle 2 Implementation of Mindanao Trust Fund for Reconstruction and Development Program (MTF-RDP). This is shown during the Sub-project Proposal (SPP) Appraisal and Approval that were conducted consecutively on January 2014 in the municipalities of General Salipada K. Pendatun (GSKP), Sultan sa Barongis, Kabuntalan and South Upi in Maguindanao province and in Midsayap, North Cotabato.

At least fourteen (14) SPPs are appraised and approved by the MSC during the said activity. This activity includes assessment of the Committee on the parity and inclusiveness of the project to all sectors.

Two (2) SPPs are approved for GSKP, 3 for the municipalities of SSB, South Upi, Kabuntalan and Midsayap.

In Gen. SKP, the community sub-projects being proposed is fishing facility and support to agriculture.

During the meeting, Mayor Datu Shajidkhan P. Pendatun said: “I wish that my municipality would become a model among the municipalities in the Central Mindanao region”.

In Sultan sa Barongis, 2 barangays is proposing for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) Facility. One barangay is proposing for post-harvest facility specifically solar dryer.

Pledging support to the program was Mayor Datu Ramdatu M. Anggas.

In his message, he stated: “I hope all barangays in my municipality will be availing with the BDA program because the implemented sub-projects from the BDA has a great impact and I foresee it is a continuous program addressing the necessity of a conflict-affected community”.

In South Upi, all three (3) barangays is proposing for infrastructure project specifically post-harvest facilities.

The municipal Mayor also expressed his support to the program through the municipal Secretary Ben Aguil.

“My administration is very supportive for any development programs particularly those programs might have been ameliorating the living condition of my constituents and I’m extending my full support to be prolonged the BDA program in my municipality and I hope so that the unfortunate barangays in this 3-year program will be giving a chance as next deserving recipient barangay of the said program,” Sec. Aguil stated.

In Midsayap, WaSH facility is also being proposed in two barangays while the other barangay is proposing for post-harvest facility.

Mayor Romeo D. Araña of the municipality told BDA that his town is open for BDA.

“Bukas ang aking mga Kamay sa BDA, mabuhay ang BDA!, mabuhay ang BDA!, mabuhay!, the Mayor said.

In Kabuntalan, 2 barangays are proposing for solar dryer and the other barangay is proposing for farm water supply. The local government unit of this municipality has also been supportive to the program. Sub-projects were successfully implemented in the 3 barangays of the town during the Cycle 1 implementation of the program.

The visible support of the local government units of the said municipalities together with different line agencies that is in attendance during this series of appraisal activity helped in the realization of the community sub-projects.

In one of the meetings conducted, Hashim Manticayan, Regional Manager of BDA Central Mindanao reminded People’s Organization of the importance of transparency and accountability in realizing the proposed sub-projects for the Cycle 2 implementation of the program.

BDA Central Mindanao did remarkable achievement during the Cycle 1 implementation of the program by successfully implementing all the sub-projects in the communities covered by the program in the region.

Community Organizers who are tasked to facilitate the program process in each municipality have successfully guided the communities in reaching program target employing the Community Driven Development (CDD) Approach.
