People’s Organizations in Sarangani undergo Sub-Project Management Training

The People’s Organizations of Sarangani province recently underwent Sub-Project Management and Monitoring and Evaluation Training on February 2014 as part of the capability-building support to the beneficiaries of the Mindanao Trust Fund Reconstruction and Development Program (MTF-RDP).

The POs are coming from Barangays Tuyan and Lun Masla in Malapatan, Barangays Maguling, Mindupok and Ticulab in Maitum, and Barangays Amsipit, Daliao and Lumasal in Maasim.

The training equipped the officers and members of POs with profound knowledge in handling the implementation of their respective sub-projects under MTF-RDP.

Barangays Tuyan and Maguling have already received farm equipments which they proposed for the first cycle of the sub-project implementation.

Topics discussed were about planning, organizing, leading, controlling, monitoring and evaluation. Through a workshop, the participants also learned how to make an action plan.

They also projected circumstances and factors that may derail or deter the project operation and outlined the corresponding strategies to counter those identified deterring factors.

The participants identified lack of transparency, uncooperative officers and members as well as absence in regular PO meetings as the major factors why project implementation does not succeed.

The regional staff of the Bangsamoro Development Agency-Southern Region Management Office under its Regional Manager, Mohalikin D. Piang, facilitated the said training.

BDA undertakes the facilitation of the implementation of sub-project in target conflict affected communities in Southern Philippines using the Community Driven Development mechanism.
